Who is an Executive (ESTJ)?
Executives are individuals with the Extraverted, Sensing, Thinking and Judging personality traits. They tend to be hardworking, devoted and responsible people who value tradition and order. Task-oriented, executives live in the present and are known for being wellorganized, practical and focused.
No one could accuse the Executive/Cancer of shirking, and it’s natural for this type to give 110 percent in all areas of life and exhibit boundless energy as they do. They’d sooner sacrifice their personal time or preferences than renege on a commitment or fail to submit their best work. Employers can count on them to uphold the vision of the organization at all times, to work at full speed and to encourage others to do the same. They demonstrate consistent integrity in roles of leadership, believing the rules apply as much to them as their subordinates. And though they skillfully exercise authority, they also show great respect for their own superiors and don’t struggle to follow orders. They see that organizations and societies function best when there is a healthy sense of respect and duty.
These people need to be needed. In all aspects of their lives, they have an overwhelming desire to feel loved and appreciated in order to develop a sense of security and identity. Their sense of home is incredibly important to their feeling of safety. They find it hard to achieve anything unless they feel safe and comfortable in their home lives. As such, they tend to be great at creating home environments for those that they love - both emotionally and physically. You’ll often find the home of the Executive/Cancer to be welcoming, cozy and secure. When bogged down by stress, they often feels isolated from others. They feel as if they are misunderstood and undervalued, and that their efforts are taken for granted. Although normally they´re very verbal and doesn't have any problem expressing themselves, when under stress they have a hard time putting their feelings into words and communicating them to others.
Respect and devotion is very important to Executive/Cancers. They are typically not outlandish or crude at all. Their love style is one of steady quietness that is very appealing long term. Their current in their river of passion runs deep and swift. They make excellent parents as well, bringing their own brand of sensitive parenting to the mix which likely enhances their partners ways. They are champions of their loved ones. They will fiercely protect and defend their lovers. Known for their sensitivity, when in love they can be very sentimental when things are going well, yet if things get difficult their feelings get very hurt quickly. They are careful with themselves and may not easily show their vulnerabilities when first beginning a love affair. Yet when handled with care and respect they blossom, giving devotion and loyalty for life.
Their preferred way to setting direction and vision is usually in small, incremental, specific steps. This behavior applies to organizational settings as well. Their visions are usually set in clear, specific steps and presented to their team in unambiguous language. Most people should have little or no trouble understanding what this leader requires of them. However, they may find it challenging to inspire or motivate others. Because their instructions are usually immediate and specific, their staff may find it hard to understand the bigger picture behind their everyday tasks. They will aid their cause greatly if they can articulate a bigger vision for the organization.
