INFP / Pisces
Who is a Mediator (INFP)?
Meditators are individuals with the Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Perceiving personality traits. They tend to be creative, empathetic and individualistic people with a desire to create their own unique path in life. Highly thoughtful and considerate, meditators are known to be good listeners with an ability to make people in their surroundings feel at ease.
Mediator/Pisces mind tends towards the fantastical and mystical. They are introspective by nature, and this can lead others to find them either intriguing and mysterious - or other times boring or too quiet. If you look beneath their surface, most will have a brilliant inner life that they rarely share with other people around them. They care deeply for others, and Mediator/Pisces can rarely stand to see their loved ones unhappy. Being drawn to their inner lives, they can sometimes express that as having an interest in the spiritual. Their inner world is so vivid that in their desire to bring that forth and express it, they may be very creative. But nothing that they can express will ever live up to the images that they carry inside them. Sensitive and delicate, they need a lot of encouragement in order to get things done and reach their full potential. They love to imagine, but sometimes fail to take action. This doesn't mean they won't get things done, it just means that they might do things a little later than their peers, when they have found the inspiration that they need.
They have very high standards and are perfectionists. Consequently, they are usually hard on themselves, and don't give themselves enough credit. They may have problems working on a project in a group, because their standards are likely to be higher than other members' of the group. In group situations, they may have a "control" problem. They need to work on balancing their high ideals with the requirements of every day living. Without resolving this conflict, they will never be happy with themselves, and they may become confused and paralyzed about what to do with their lives. They are usually talented writers. They may be awkward and uncomfortable with expressing themselves verbally, but have a wonderful ability to define and express what they're feeling on paper. They also appear frequently in social service professions, such as counselling or teaching. They are at their best in situations where they're working towards the public good, and in which they don't need to use hard logic.
There is a tension between what Mediator/Pisces need in a partner and what they want. They want a love that overpowers them. They want to be whisked away on some romantic pleasure cruise. They need to know that it’s okay to be sculpted by love, but that there has to be something definite. Some hard wire underneath all the malleability. Love is not a complete absence of a self, or a full dissolution into someone else. The right partner already knows this and encourages them to build rudimentary walls. The right partner is rooted in reality while still being susceptible to romance. The right partner is comforting without being boring. Don’t be afraid to receive love from them in the same way as you give it! Though this type may not be outright in expressing how they feel right off the bat, if they’re putting aside time to spend with you and engaging in activities you enjoy with you, it’s their way of saying, “I’m interested.” As they get to know you better, this type tends to enjoy using written words to express their feelings. They may leave you little notes, poems or letters that let you know how much they love you. Take their words and their shows of physical affection at face value – if a Mediator/Pisces says they love you, they mean it!
Mediator/Pisces can often see things from unconventional perspectives. With their ability to make surprising and unexpected connections, it’s no wonder that many Mediator/Pisces are drawn to creative pursuits and the arts. When an idea or movement captures their imagination and speaks to their beliefs, they can give their whole heart to it. People with this personality type can be reserved or reticent, but that doesn’t diminish their strong feelings for a cause that matches their ideals. Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, but these people’s far-reaching vision can help them stay the course. When they’re doing something meaningful, these personalities can have a sense of purpose or even courage that keeps them true to their values.
