INFJ / Capricorn

Who is an Advocate (INFJ)?

Advocates are individuals with the Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling and Judging personality traits. They tend to be gentle, complex and intuitive people who enjoy expressing themselves both artistically and creatively. Highly observant of their surroundings, advocates are extremely skillful at reading and understanding other people.

This unique combination of personality traits makes them complex and quite versatile. For example, they can speak with great passion and conviction, especially when standing up for their ideals. At other times, however, they may choose to be soft-spoken and understated, preferring to keep the peace rather than challenge others. They generally strive to do what’s right – and they want to help create a world where others do the right thing as well. People with this personality combo may feel called to use their strengths – including creativity, imagination, and sensitivity – to uplift others and spread compassion. Concepts like egalitarianism and karma can mean a great deal to them. Mediating disputes is hard work, but these people have an astounding ability to help heal the rifts that divide people. They intuitively sense the real suffering that anger can cause if left to fester, and because they are good listeners they are quite effective at helping warring parties find workable solutions that will satisfy the needs of all. And they do it with great energy and determination.

They place great importance on having things orderly and systematic in their outer world. They put a lot of energy into identifying the best system for getting things done, and constantly define and re-define the priorities in their lives. On the other hand, they operate within themselves on an intuitive basis which is entirely spontaneous. They know things intuitively, without being able to pinpoint why, and without detailed knowledge of the subject at hand. They are usually right, and they usually know it. Consequently, they put a tremendous amount of faith into their instincts and intuitions. This is something of a conflict between the inner and outer worlds, and may result in them not being as organized as others. Or we may see some signs of disarray in an otherwise orderly tendency, such as a consistently messy desk.

They are committed to finding the ultimate ideal relationship. This means that they may unconsciously project their expectations of ideals on their partners, and may move on if they feel their partners don’t meet all those expectations. Partners of the Advocate/Capricorn may feel suffocated or oppressed if they somehow expresses all these expectations they have. For this reason, many Advocate/Capricorn stay single. They rather are single and free than to be married to someone that doesn’t meet these expectations. However, if they have chosen a partner, they are fully committed to making the relationship the best one there is. They are wonderful listeners – able to quickly and accurately diagnose the challenges that their partners have. They’ll help their partners verbalize their thoughts and find clarity. Partners often feel the gentle, warm and understanding presence of the Advocate/Capricorn to be a comforting space. These people will run the most boring of errands with you. When they care about someone, they tend to be invested in their long-term well-being, and, selfishly, they want their friends to be operating at their level. So that means they not only champion your big wins, like starting a business, but they will also “yas queen” you for getting more than seven hours of sleep every day for a week.
