ISFP / Aquarius
Who is an Adventurer (ISFP)?
Adventurers are individuals with the Introverted, Sensing, Feeling and Perceiving personality traits. They tend to be spontaneous, friendly and sensitive people with a great sense of integrity. Creative and with a strong aesthetic appreciation, adventurers are also known for their artistic qualities.
Adventurer/Aquarius are lovers on a global scale. They are among the coolest and most open-minded people you’ll ever meet. Their sharp intellect and progressive views combine to create a personality that is magnetic, optimistic and welcoming to all. They are gentle caretakers who live in the present moment and enjoy their surroundings with cheerful, low-key enthusiasm. They are flexible and spontaneous, and like to go with the flow to enjoy what life has to offer. They are quiet and unassuming, and may be hard to get to know. However, to those who know them well, they’re warm and friendly, eager to share in life's many experiences. They have a strong aesthetic sense and seek out beauty in their surroundings. They are attuned to sensory experience, and often have a natural talent for the arts.
Adventurer/Aquarians are big know-it-alls, which can be compounded by the fact that they are usually right. But in their desire to be more progressive and future-minded than others, they can be rigid and dogmatic, falling victim to trappings of the ego that undercut their own philosophies. Their two modes are either fascinated or indifferent, and it can be hard to get them to care (or even acknowledge) the people in their lives who don’t immediately hold their interest. They especially excel at manipulating objects, and may wield creative tools like paintbrushes and sculptor's knives with great mastery. They believe in actions, not words. They talk about what is, not what could, should or will be, and then they actually do it. This passion for action is a blessing for them, since it helps them get past their shyness in meeting new people. Adventurer/Aquarius are sensitive, much more so than most, and it takes time to build enough trust with new friends to open up and feel natural.
Adventurer/Aquarius are all about agapic love. For the uninitiated, that’s the highest form of love, according to the ancient Greeks, and it supersedes romantic, friendly or familial bonds. When they’re in love, the relationship is part of something bigger than the couple, so they thrive when there’s shared purpose and enthusiasm for the future. They tend to be very egalitarian and open-minded, and as long as it makes you both happy, it’s on the table. That creativity absolutely translates in bed as well. Very supportive and encouraging, they are partners who are meek yet passionate individuals. Although they are flexible and easy-going about many things, when it comes to relationships, they are committed and serious. These are people of intense sensitivity and they possess great depth of emotion. Because they’re afraid of being hurt, they usually only show this emotional side to people whom they feel they can trust.
People with this personality type are happy to get along with just about anyone, but potential friends need to ease up on being too judgmental or demanding. They will not sacrifice their principles for anything, and they have little tolerance for cheaters, liars or hypocrites. Because they are so respectful and find conflict distasteful, they will not confront people who disappoint them, but they will disassociate themselves from those individuals as soon as they possibly can. Too often, they treat others better than they treat themselves, acting as if their needs are somehow trivial or less important. So every now and then, they should make sure to include their own names on the list of the deserving—preferably somewhere near the top.
